Fred’s a boy with a problem: he wants to be Jewish.
At least he thinks he does - he doesn’t actually know that much
about Jews or being Jewish, just that it all feels like something
he can finally belong to. Rabbi Jacobs thinks Fred’s going through
“The King Kong of all identity crises,” but Fred wants to belong
somewhere, and he thinks somewhere may be deep in the bosom
of the Jewish community, so he sets out to be a Jew - at least for a day.
Haven’t you ever wanted to belong?
Jew for a Day is the first Fringe offering from
Bird of Mouth Productions, based out of Toronto.
It’s the story of one kid’s search for an identity,
and his finding it in the least likely place.
We’ve all wanted to belong at some point in our lives,
but not every place we try works out....
